FRIDAY: Gaiters 8, Western Ontario 4

A balanced attack led the Gaiters to an 8-4 win over the Western Ontario Mustangs in the CUFLA quarterfinal in London, Ont. Seven different players scored for the Gaiters, led by a pair by Gareth Gibson, as Bishop's eliminated the host Mustangs from the tournament. The Gaiters led 2-1 after the first quarter and 3-2 at halftime before pulling away in the second half.

Andrew MacKay, Brett Conway, James Malloy, Mike Dube, Jesse Gattellaro and Josh Crone each scored for the Gaiters, while Keegan Durovick faced 13 shots in net for Bishop's. Western was led by Dylan Ham's two goals, while Eric Pitre and Shayne Snider scored once each.

SATURDAY: Gaiters 12, Guelph 11
Mike Dube's power-play goal with 15 seconds left gave the Gaiters a come-from-behind victory, 12-11, over the Guelph Gryphons in the CUFLA semi-final. The Gaiters trailed 7-2 at halftime, and went down 8-2 early in the third quarter before Bishop's started their comeback. The Gaiters responded in the third quarter with four unanswered goals to cut the margin to 8-6 with one period left.

In the fourth, Guelph stretched their lead back out to 10-6, and they led 11-8 with 2:57 left when the Gaiters caught a break. The Gaiters called for a stick check on Guelph's Eric Hubert, who touched the pocket of his stick before giving it to the officials. His attempt to circumvent the stick check resulted in an automatic three-minute penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct, putting Guelph a man down for the remainder of regulation time.

The Gaiters took advantage, as it took only 25 seconds for Gareth Gibson to cut the lead to 11-9. The Gryphons appeared to have gone up 12-9 with 90 seconds left, but Brody Slacer's stick was also found to be illegal, nullifying the goal and giving the Gaiters a two-man advantage for the rest of the quarter. That was all Bishop's needed, as Dube pulled the Gaiters to within one with 1:07 to go, Josh Crone scored his fifth goal of the game with 49 seconds left, setting up Dube's late heroics.

In addition to Crone's five, Dube scored four goals, while Joe Laleune, Andrew MacKay and Gibson each had singles for Bishop's. Keegan Durovick faced 21 shots on goal. Ryan Serville led Guelph with five goals, while Jordan Critch added three, Eric Hubert scored twice and Curtis Knight added one.
