ATHLETE OF THE WEEK:
The Bishop’s Gaiters Athlete of the Week is Mike Dube of the men's lacrosse team. Dube, a native of Brockville, led the Gaiters with four goals in their 11-10 (OT) win over the McGill Redmen on Thursday night. The win pulled the Gaiters to within three games of the Redmen, with Bishop's having three games in hand.
 
HONOUR ROLL:
  • Gabrielle Chamberland, Women's Basketball - Was named tournament MVP over the weekend, after scoring 60 points over three games
  • Josh Crone, Lacrosse – Helped lead Gaiter offense last weekend
  • Luca Urbani, Football – Scored first career touchdown on Saturday
·         Onnex Blackwood, Men's Basketball – Led Gaiters on Friday with 18 points, 16 in the second half

SATURDAY: Sherbrooke 38, Gaiters 11
Jérémi Doyon-Roch threw for two touchdowns and ran for another as the No. 4-ranked Sherbrooke Vert & Or defeated the Bishop's Gaiters, 38-11, on Saturday night in Sherbrooke. The rookie completed 15 of 28 passes for 224 yards, and connected with Alex Corriveau and Ismael Bamba on scoring throws, as Sherbrooke won the Mayor's Cup for the fourth straight year.
 
UP NEXT: The Gaiters are back in action on Sunday, October 16, as they visit the No. 1-ranked Laval Rouge et Or (5-1). Kickoff at the newly-renamed Stade Telus in Quebec City is set for 1 p.m.

Gaiters open non-conference play win a win over Queen's
 
FRIDAY: Gaiters 67, Queen's 61
Onnex Blackwood's 16 second-half points led the Bishop's Gaiters to a 67-61 victory over the Queen's Gaels in Kingston on Friday. The Scarborough native led the Gaiters with 18 points, as Bishop's overcame a 42-33 halftime deficit to pick up their first win of the season.
 
UP NEXT: The Gaiters are back in action on Sunday, October 16, as they visit the No. 1-ranked Laval Rouge et Or (5-1). Kickoff at the newly-renamed Stade Telus in Quebec City is set for 1 p.m.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL (3-0)
Gaiters sweep weekend, take UNB trophy crown
Women's Basketball went 3-0 last weekend at the Accreon Helen Campbell Tournament in Fredericton, N.B. The Gaiters picked up wins over the host UNB Varsity Reds, the UPEI Panthers and the York Lions over the weekend.
 
FRIDAY: Gaiters 70, UNB 67
A 15-point performance by Jessy Roy led the Gaiters to a 70-67 win over the host UNB Varsity Reds on Day 1 of the Accreon Helen Campbell Tournament in Fredericton. The fifth-year point guard led the Gaiters' scorers and was named Player of the Game, as Bishop's overcame a 40-30 halftime deficit to notch their first win of the year.
 
SATURDAY: Gaiters 84, UPEI 64
A 29-point performance by Gabrielle Chamberland led the Bishop's Gaiters to an 84-64 win over the UPEI Panthers in Day 2 of the Accreon Helen Campbell Invitational in Fredericton, Saturday. The Sherbrooke native set a new career high, as she went 7-for-12 from the field, and 12-for-13 from the free throw line. She also led the Gaiters, who led throughout the game, with six rebounds.
 
SUNDAY: Gaiters 63, York 51
Gabrielle Chamberland’s 22 points led the Bishop’s Gaiters to a 63-51 win over the York Lions on Day 3 of the Accreon Helen Campbell Tournament in Fredericton, Sunday. The Sherbrooke native posted her second straight 20-point game, and she was named Tournament MVP. The Gaiters went a perfect 3-0 at the tournament.
 
UP NEXT: The Gaiters host the Reebok Shoot for the Cure tournament this weekend, as the Toronto Varsity Blues, Queen's Gaels and the Dynamo senior team visit the Mitchell Gym. Games are set for Friday at 6 and 8 p.m., Saturday at 2, 4 and 6 p.m. and Sunday at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
WOMEN’S SOCCER (0-6-2)
Gaiters off for Thanksgiving, pair of road games on tap this week.
 
Women's Soccer was off last week, as the league took its annual Thanksgiving break. The Gaiters return to action with a pair of road games this week, at McGill (4-2-2) and at UQTR (3-2-3).
UP NEXT: On Thursday, the Gaiters head to Molson Stadium to face the McGill Martme is Thursday, October 13, as they visit the McGill Martlets at Molson Stadium.

Gaiters enjoy Thanksgiving bye, take two-game win streak to McGill
 
Men's Rugby was off last week, as they took their Thanksgiving break. The Gaiters return to action on Saturday, as they visit McGill.
UP NEXT: The Gaiters head to Montreal to play the McGill Redmen (4-0-0) on Saturday afternoon. Kickoff at Percival Molson Stadium is set for 3:15 p.m.
Gaiters drop return game at Sherbrooke, close out season at McGill
 
THURSDAY: Sherbrooke 73, Gaiters 0
Four tries by Sabrina Poulin led the Sherbrooke Vert & Or to a 73-0 win over the Bishop's Gaiters in CIS women's rugby action at the Université de Sherbrooke synthetic field, Thursday.

UP NEXT: Women's Rugby close out their season on Saturday afternoon, as they visit the No. 9-ranked McGill Martlets (3-2). Kickoff is set for 1:30 at the Macdonald College campus in Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue.
LACROSSE (4-1)

Lacrosse won their only league game of the week, 11-10 (OT), over McGill on Thursday night. They also played a pair of exhibition games against American teams.
THURSDAY: Gaiters 11, McGill 10 (OT)
Mike Dube scored four goals and James Malloy, tallied the game-winner with 3:15 remaining in overtime as Bishop’s rallied from a four-goal deficit at halftime to upset division-leading McGill, 11-10, in CUFLA action at Molson Stadium in Montreal, Thursday.
 
SATURDAY: Gaiters at St. Michael's (Vt.)
SUNDAY: Gaiters at St. Lawrence

UP NEXT: Lacrosse has a heavy schedule this week, with three league games on the docket. On Friday, they host the Carleton Ravens (4-2) at Coulter Field, with the faceoff set for 8:15 p.m. On Saturday, the Gaiters host Queen's (0-7) at 6 p.m. Bishop's closes the weekend with the return match at Carleton, set for 2 p.m. Sunday.
