LENNOXVILLE, Que. – Noah Harrison (Toronto, Ont.) of the Bishop's Gaiters has been named the Quebec university rugby union Player of the Year. The veteran Number 8 is the inaugural winner of the award, and is one of five Gaiters to be honoured by the league in their annual awards. Also winning prizes were lock Max Grouette (Surrey, B.C.), who was named the league's Rookie of the Year, while Harrison, Adam Moore (Dartmouth, N.S.), Kyle Kelly (Halifax, N.S.) and Andrew Jamieson (Beaconsfield, Que.) were named to the league All-Star team.More...

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK:

Jordan Heather of the Football team is this week's Bishop's University Athlete of the Week. On Saturday, Heather passed for 365 yards, setting a new team single-season record for passing yards, and he also set a new school single-game record with 49 pass attempts. He also set a new league mark with 345 pass attempts in 2011. Heather finished atop the league standings in yards, attempts, completions and touchdowns.

  • Jesse Gattellaro, Men's Lacrosse – Scored a hat trick against Trent
  • Gabrielle Chamberland, Women's Basketball – Led Gaiters with 23 points on Saturday at McMaster
  • Noah Harrison, Men's Rugby – Scored a try on Friday night
  • Josh Crone, Men's Lacrosse – Led Gaiters with five points (1G, 4A)
  • Josh Quirion, Men's Rugby – Scored a try on Friday night

LENNOXVILLE, Que. – A second-half try by Alex Ritchie propelled the Concordia Stingers to a 13-10 victory over the Bishop's Gaiters in a Quebec university rugby union semi-final at Coulter Field. The crowd of approximately 300 people saw the Stingers score 13 unanswered points after the Gaiters had taken a 5-0 lead late in the first half.

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK:

The Bishop’s Gaiters Athlete of the Week is Alexander Fox of the football team. Fox, a native of Montreal West, Que., led the Gaiters with 266 all-purpose yards last week – the fifth-highest total in team history – and was named the league Special Teams Player of the Week after last week's 21-18 win over the McGill Redmen. He caught seven passes for 84 yards, had 48 yards in kickoff returns and 134 yards combined on punt and missed field goal returns.

SHERBROOKE, Que. – A pair of tries by Noah Harrison (Toronto, Ont.) led the Bishop's Gaiters to a 20-12 win over the Sherbrooke Vert & Or in Quebec conference men's rugby action on Sunday evening in Sherbrooke. With the win, the Gaiters clinched second place in the Quebec university rugby union, and will host the Concordia Stingers in a league semi-final on Friday night.

The Bishop’s Gaiters Athlete of the Week is Noah Harrison of the Men's Rugby team. Harrison, a fourth-year prop from Toronto, was the Gaiters' Man of the Match in their 8-0 win over Sherbrooke on Friday night. Harrison led the Gaiters' attack throughout the game, and his performance was highlighted by charging down a Concordia kick and scoring the Gaiters' only try of the match.

LENNOXVILLE, Que. – An 8-0 shutout by Men's Rugby highlighted a trio of Bishop's Gaiters contests at Coulter Field on Friday night. The Gaiters, in a battle for second place, shut out the Concordia Stingers in a tight, defensive affair. Earlier in the evening, Women's Soccer fought to a 1-1 draw against the Stingers, while Women's Rugby lost to No. 3-ranked Laval.

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK:
The Bishop’s Gaiters Athlete of the Week is Adam Moore of the Men's Rugby team. Moore, a second-year flanker from Dartmouth, N.S., was the Gaiters' Man of the Match in their 12-5 win over Sherbrooke on Friday night. Moore led the Gaiters with his strong defensive presence throughout the match. His hard work at breakdowns helped the Gaiters keep possession, steal the ball or slow down the Vert & Or offence. He set up the Gaiters' first try of the match by making a quick pass to Noah Harrison off a lineout.

  • Keegan Durovick, Lacrosse – Made 19 saves in Gaiters' 12-11 loss to McGill on Thursday
  • Frédérique Cloutier, Women's Soccer – Scored the Gaiters' opening goal in Friday's tie with UQTR.
  • Kyle Kelly, Men's Rugby – Third-year prop carried the ball for over 40 yards on Friday
  • O'Shane Daley, Football – Led Gaiters' defence with 6.5 tackles, an interception and a knockdown
